Effie Trinket is a character in The Hunger Games film series. She works as a mentor and escort of the District 12 tributes where she can show off and draw attention to herself. She grew up in the capital of Panem in luxury and wealth with a high influence on fashion. She is sweet, superficial, positive, and concerned with appearance. Effie is very strict in following the Capitol protocol, having proper manners, and punctuality. She is known for being bright, bubbly, vibrant, and fashionable. Fashion is very important to Effie and uses it to express herself. Throughout the film series’ progress, we see Effie becomes less shallow, using less white makeup, and wearing a more natural makeup look. We can also see that she struggles with an internal conflict as she realizes that the Capital she loves isn’t as great as she believed it was. She becomes uncomfortable and guilty with the whole idea, but as the film goes on, she becomes hopeful that things might be better.
